"A Good Teacher! "

Furmi is a very friendly and good teacher. Furmi taught our son and a friend for quite some time. My son (16 yrs) plays saxophone and is really inspired by Furmi. Furthermore Furmi is relaxed and easygoing and treats the boys like adults, he is fun to be with and a gifted musician. Hanneke W.

"Never Too Old! "

Trumpet lessons with Laurie have literally changed my life. I am a "come-back" player returning to the instrument after a lapse of some 50 years, and also very old! I was very apprehensive about taking up the instrument again, but longed to do so, finally plucking up the courage to start again, with the encouragement of my wife. Laurie has embraced "my music" - traditional jazz - which is not his main genre or forte, so there is something of a mutual exchange of knowledge. He has introduced me to stimulating practice pieces that I never had opportunity to use when I first learned. He has induced a discipline and regime which is not only pleasurable but is precisely tailored to my abilities and age.  He has great patience and is full of encouragement. I have been learning again for some 10 months now, and am managing to play many pieces from the repertoire of my old Jazz Band - still a long way to go - and getting through the exercises, as well as theory, which I missed or had forgotten all those years ago.  My embouchure and sight reading are becoming more developed and improved weekly. Having the opportunity to learn from a master, with practical demonstration and example, is something I never had previously experienced; it makes a huge difference.  Laurie's versatility and range of trumpet technique, ability and empathy for the student is, I believe, a rarity. I am ALMOST feeling confident enough to try sitting in with a band again.... Cannot recommend him highly enough. Stephen Levrant, age 72.

"Fun Drum Lessons! "

"Inspirerende basles! "

De lessen bij Erwin zijn super inspirerend! Zelf bas ik al een ruime tijd en heb ik in meerdere bands gespeeld. Maar ik merkte dat ik in sommige dingen vastliep. Dus ik besloot om weer eens na lange tijd basles te nemen. Erwin voelt goed aan waar de pijnpuntjes zitten en heeft goeie vakkennis om daar dieper op in te gaan, zodat je echt resultaat ziet! Naast dat het een topdocent is het ook nog een super aardige kerel waardoor er een hele fijne relaxte sfeer hangt. Kortom zeker een aanrader!!! Manus

"Inspirational Piano Teacher "

Laurie is a friendly, inspirational and insightful teacher who has been teaching piano to my 9 yr old son for the past 2 years. After losing some interest when a previous teacher left Laurie remarkably transformed my sons interest and guided him through a great pass in Grade 1.  He is very patient and clearly understands how challenging it can be for a beginner, offering useful insights and interesting new pieces to help support my sons learning and keep him motivated. When I asked my son what he likes best about Laurie he said that he liked the fact that Laurie was kind and structured the lessons so he learned a lot but had a lot of fun at the same time,  especially when they learned pop songs together! I was looking for a skilled saxophone teacher since I was out of playing the saxophone for about 10 yrs. I'm very happy with the saxophone lessons from Andrius. I was looking for someone to help me freshen up the musical knowledge that was taught to me as a kid and help me becoming a better saxophone player now that I'm just playing for fun. Sara shines as a vocal teacher because of her amazing ability to combine professionalism with being genuine and personal. Her conservatory background clearly shows in her singing skills, while she is also very warm and attentive in her teaching approach. She will make sure that her students feel relaxed, comfortable, and respected, for example by starting lessons with breathing exercises. Another great thing about Sara's lessons is that she focuses on the intrinsic motivation of her students. Instead of simply instructing, she will start by asking what you would like to get out of the lessons, or which song you would love to sing. Having said this, her approach to teaching is very professional, with background theories being clearly explained up to the anatomical level, and practicing useful exercises for training purposes. "Golden Touch "

After ten years, my Russian teacher at Leiden stopped teaching. I was dreading the search for a new teacher in the Hague region, because in those ten years I had learned more than in all those years before. In the end, you need a teacher to keep you motivated and to study every day to master another beautiful piece.The Internet is not always my favourite search place, but I got a good suggestion to take a look at: Vivaldi Music Lessons, and that turned out to be a golden touch. That is how I came to Carla. With this attitude I came to Carla for lessons. In short, with high expectations and my previous teacher as reference material. The first lesson, an introductory lesson, was more of a test if you feel comfortable with him/her and whether there was a match from both sides, because you want to be eager to listen to you teacher and on the other hand, you have to be motivated as a student to study well. 

In the end playing the cello is a serious business!

She asked me to bring the music that was on my desk. So what I was studying at my last lesson with my previous teacher. That was a nice starting point and you didn't have the feeling that you had to deliver a top performance, because after all it was the piece you were learning with all the doubts and questions and difficulties still in it and which you certainly hadn't mastered yet. This is how I came to the lesson. The structure of the lesson is usually technique (left hand, right hand) and musicality (how do you approach phrasing and what do you think when there are dilemmas or tackle high positions and guard the purity. In short, very similar to how I had lessons before and I always have the feeling that I am making progress. Sometimes I doubted myself and asked her if I would ever be able to master the piece. Yes... ...I'm doing just fine, she said. And she is right. Sometimes I take pieces to lessons that I have to play in an amateur orchestra and it's nice to get professional help to master those parts as well. What I'm still looking for is to play with someone occasionally.
